2025 Ford F150 – A free lunch or at least a cheaper lunch does not exist without sacrifice.
As 2024 draws to a close — well, at least the model year — Ford is releasing changes to the 2025 F-150 pickup truck. The main part of the story is that three trims of the popular pickup have dropped between $1,200 and $2,300. The price reductions also include content reductions. Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driver assistance system will also be updated to its latest version, but you will have to pay for the service much earlier than the 2024 model year.
2025 Ford F150
Every 2025 BlueCruise-capable Ford F-150 comes with the optional 1.4 version of BlueCruise starting with the XLT equipped with one of its technology packages (either 302A or 303A). The latest update adds automatic lane changes that are activated with the turn signal lever and automatic lane change. Now, the catch is that instead of a three-year “free” subscription option, Ford only offers a 90-day trial period for the Tremor and Lariat trims, with a one-year trial subscription optional; King Ranch and Platinum trims get a full-year trial of BlueCruise standard. After that, you’ll need to lock in a monthly subscription for $49 per month or an annual subscription for $495 per year.

If you’re willing and able to do it, lifetime (or rather BlueCruise lifetime) is a one-time purchase of service on all-new 2024 and 2025 F-150s in use. When you order a 2025 Ford F-150 with BlueCruise for $2,495, you don’t have to pay for the service again. Currently, this is only available to owners who purchase their 2024 and 2025 F-150s from a dealer right now. If you have a 2024 F-150 with BlueCruise or a 2025 but have a new option for a monthly or annual subscription, you will not be able to purchase a one-time package later.
It needs to be done at the time of ordering and is something we recommend doing if you want it included in your payments and included with the vehicle for life. With a suggested lifespan of seven years (and likely much longer), $2,495 is a lot cheaper than even paying the annual price over seven years ($3,465 for storage points). Since this is all software, Ford should allow this one time option for all BlueCruise vehicles that can be upgraded to version 1.4. Not offering it for the life of the vehicle seems a bit dodgy to us. Your photographer, computer artist and videographer friend gets the joke.
First, if you were hoping to get Darkened Bronze or Avalanche colors for the 2025 model year, you’re going to be disappointed, as Ford has decided that those colors will no longer be available on the F-150. They will be replaced with Marsh Gray and Space White Metallic. Unfortunately, if you want to get navigation at the lowest price, you have now lost that opportunity. For 2025, the XL is no longer a standard feature, and despite the loss, it’ll cost you $1,915 more (at $40,605) than the 2024 Model Year ($38,960).
The three trims of the 2025 F-150 have a lower price of entry, but for the price of their base package contents. The STX entry “200B” is $1,185 cheaper than the 2024 STX (which was $45,995) and its “200A” starts at $44,810. you no longer have LED fog lights and you no longer get high beam. Of course, you can get it all back by opting for the 200A, since the package hasn’t been completely removed, but you’ll pay $1,535 for the package out of a total price of $46,345 – $350 more as an equivalent 2024 STX .
Refreshed 2025 Ford F-150 Lariat Shows Everything, Inside And Out, Albeit Unofficially
Both the XLT and Lariat are also cheaper, with similar satisfaction packages and entry prices discounted by $2,235. The $50,180 price of the XLT “300A” includes the content price of the chrome trim on the door handles and grill. -inch running boards, dual-zone automatic climate control and wrapped steering wheel 2024 model year. You can retrofit them with the 301A package for $1,585 — which makes the XLT with the same standard equipment from 2024 more expensive ($51,765), but you don’t get the 360-degree camera, Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. You can only get this in the XLT “302A” package, but Ford doesn’t currently have that package listed at the time of this story’s publication. Another omission from the XLT “302A” and above trim packages is their standard keyboard. Now the only way to get it is a part that is a dealer installed option. The price of the keyboard is $125 from the Ford Accessories Store, plus additional labor for installation.
The Lariat “500A” package loses the standard 20-inch wheels, power sliding rear windows, universal garage door opener and keypad. You get all that back with the 501A package for an additional $2,670 over the 2025 Lariat’s starting price of $65,155. Check out the 2024 version with the same content for $67,390, the 2025 Lariat 501A ($67,825) is $435 more expensive and still doesn’t have a keyboard. And the Lariat no longer gets leather-trimmed seats (replaced with ActiveX-trimmed seats) and signature light. Signature Lighting is only offered on “Premium” trims such as King Ranch and Platinum.

The first-generation F-150 Lightning pictured here was always meant to be a stopgap, allowing Ford to jump into the battery-electric pickup market quickly but with compromise. The company’s next-generation electric pickups are expected to bring its most demanding and versatile vehicles into the modern era. Ford also confirmed that production of the vehicles will begin when the new BlueOval City plant becomes operational in 2025, and will be able to produce up to 500,000 electric micros a year.
What’s New In The 2025 F-150? Better Pricing, Less Stuff
Ford has been mum about the details surrounding the development of the T3 project. However, it said future vehicles will be anchored on a digital platform that will improve over time. The trucks are sleek and aerodynamic, impressively fast and quick to charge, with a long range and act as a mobile power plant that “gets comfortable off the grid.” The trucks are also built modularly, allowing the Blitz family to be expanded into a smaller Ranger and/or Maverick-sized platform.
Stopgap or not, Ford is struggling to build enough F-150 flash to meet demand, so don’t expect the company to feel a burning desire to release the T3 until it’s well and truly ready. We believe it will go on sale in late 2025 at the earliest.
