Fordredesign.com – The Explorer has rapidly become one of Ford’s most popular SUVs. It is large and spacious, as well as powerful and towable. There are also intriguing upgrades available, such as hybrid and performance engines, luxury packages, and modern technological options. The 2025 Ford Explorer has few flaws. Even those little problems will be addressed in the next overhaul. The current version was released in 2020. The carmaker has made numerous improvements since then, but it is still essentially the same vehicle.
The 2025 Ford Explorer will be a three-row seven-seater with ample of luggage and passenger room. The bench in the rear is a little snug, but that is a common complaint about mid-size SUVs. If that’s the case, you should go after the Expedition or the Expedition Max. Or even Excursion when it returns next year. Explorer outperforms big rigs in terms of fuel efficiency. The SUV has a hybrid unit for buyers that prioritize this feature. It is not as efficient as the one available for the Toyota Highlander, but it is a more powerful system. Finally, there’s the Explorer ST, which has a performance-tuned engine.
2025 Ford Explorer Design
The vehicles still look great, especially with some body changes. To stay competitive, a refresh is required. Buyers also get bored quickly. Designers were adding additional possibilities inside, and several grades that debuted in the last few seasons received a lot of attention. However, the all-new 2025 Ford Explorer will take on the competition, including the Toyota Highlander.
In reality, that is debatable. The same platform will power the forthcoming Explorer. That means there will be no new hybrid system to compete with Toyota’s high-efficiency configuration, which produces 35 mpg in its three-row SUV. On the other hand, the Japanese automaker cannot compete with the 2025 Ford Explorer ST’s on-road performance.
You can choose not only an appropriate engine, but also trim levels and options. For example, the 2025 Ford Explorer can be converted into a two-row SUV by folding the third row or deleting seats. At higher trim levels, you can also maximize comfort with captain’s chairs in the middle. We still don’t know anything about the size modifications. However, the Explorer is about to offer a similar load area – up to 90 cubic feet with all seats folded. Sliding the second row facilitates access to the back row.
The engine isn’t the sole highlight of the ST version. This trim also includes various upgrades to make the overall appearance more aggressive. You’ll need some time to go over all of the settings on the King Ranch and Platinum editions. These two have a long list of features. The Explorer Timberline is an off-road model. It can’t compete with the Jeep Wrangler or the Toyota 4Runner TRD. Ford also prioritizes safety, so you can drive the SUV with confidence.
2025 Ford Explorer Engine
Buyers can select from three different setups. Engineers chose a turbo-four engine for this large SUV. Many would dispute this decision, but a 2.3-liter engine is capable of letting the Explorer operate admirably in lower-end trims. The engine produces 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. A smaller displacement also saves gasoline when compared to a larger V6 – the gas mileage is 24 mpg. Upgrading to AWD costs 1 mpg point, and the Timberline edition burns considerably more gasoline while off-roading.
A V6 is present, but only as the primary source of power in a hybrid setup. A single electric motor powers a 3.3-liter mill, producing 318 horsepower and 322 lb-ft of torque. Extra power, torque, and miles – the gas mileage improves to 28 mpg. Again, RWD is the standard configuration. All-wheel drive and a loaded Platinum variant reduce combined fuel economy to 24-25 mpg. The next step in the advancement is a PHEV system.
Finally, there is a performance-tuned 2025 Ford Explorer ST variant. It has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo system that produces 400 horsepower. This engine is now offered in two additional high-end grades: Platinum and King Ranch. With a towing capability of 5,600 pounds, it is also the best hauler in the family. When rushing from 0-60 mph, the SUV pauses the clock just after 5 seconds. All models have a 10-speed automatic transmission.
2025 Ford Explorer Price and Release Date
The 2024 season is approaching, and the Blue Oval firm is abandoning the SUV for the next year. The 2025 Ford Explorer will be available in a half-year or longer. Sales will begin in late 2024. The remodeling will also affect the price. There will also be new trim levels and a revised color palette for the SUV.
